The exhibition is being held in anticipation of the Bandung Wayang Festival in April.
Collectors Priyanto Sunarto, Abah Soma and Tutun Hatta Saputra lent their collections of wayang golek (wooden puppets) from West Java, wayang kulit (puppets made from water buffalo skin) from Central Java and drawings of wayang characters to be displayed in the exhibition.
Bandung Wayang Festival director Hermawan Rianto said the festival would be an event for wayang maestros to give workshops.
“Maestros teach, juniors learn, other artists make interpretations, researchers appreciate and audiences will be indulged by the program that will be a warm and fun event,” he said, as quoted by detik.com.
The exhibition will conclude on March 26.
